Pitwall — Live Race Monitoring
Pitwall is Victory’s real-time race monitoring tool. It gives you a live bird’s-eye view of a race as it happens, showing driver positions on a track map alongside live timing data.
What You’ll See
Live Track Map
The left side of the screen shows a real-time track map with:
- Driver dots — Each driver is shown as a colored dot on the track, animated smoothly as they move
- Car numbers — Displayed on each driver dot for easy identification
- Track outline — The circuit centerline is drawn so you can follow the action
Live Standings
The right side shows a real-time standings table with:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Position | Current race position |
| Driver | Name and nationality flag |
| Lap | Current lap number and progress |
| Best Lap | Fastest lap set so far |
| Last Lap | Most recent lap time |
| Car | Car number and car name |
| In Pit | Indicator when a driver is in the pit lane |
Track Info
The track name and any race type indicators (e.g., Daily Race) are displayed at the top.
How It Works
Pitwall uses real-time data streaming via Firebase to update driver positions and timing data as the race unfolds. Position data is compressed and interpolated for smooth animations, so you see fluid movement rather than jumpy updates.
Viewing a Pitwall Session
Pitwall sessions are accessed via a direct link. When a race is being broadcast, you’ll receive a link that takes you straight to the live view.
Layout
- Desktop: Track map takes up ~40% of the screen, standings table takes ~60%
- Mobile: Track map is shown at the top (~35% height), with standings scrollable below
